CaMLA attends MwALT 2015 in Iowa City

On October 3, CaMLA staff met with colleagues at MwALT 2015, hosted this year by the University of Iowa. The Midwest Association of Language Testers annual conferences bring together researchers, test developers, students, teachers, and teacher educators from across the Midwest. The presentations, conversations, and community-building that occur at MwALT encourage participants to strengthen their work assessing language proficiency.

CaMLA Speaking Test Development Report published

The CaMLA Speaking Test Development Report is now available for download. The CaMLA Speaking Test, developed by Cambridge Michigan Language Assessments, assesses spoken language proficiency from the high beginner to low advanced levels, targeting the A2 to C1 ability levels of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

A major step for CaMLA’s Placement and Progress tests was the release this year of the CaMLA EPT in computer-based form.

Many English language programs are turning to computer-based solutions as a way to make their testing processes simpler, faster, and more secure. The (cb) CaMLA EPT is based directly on forms D, E, and F of the paper-based CaMLA EPT, so test users will find the same reliability they’ve come to expect with the test.
