For Michigan Language Assessment staff, attending and exhibiting at conferences is an ideal way to stay abreast of industry trends, network with colleagues from all fields of expertise, and share news and updates about the work we do.
The TESOL International Convention and Expo was held in Tampa, FL, March 21-23. A long-time supporter of the TESOL International Association, Michigan Language Assessment was an exhibitor at the convention and offered four presentations during the conference, focusing on assessment literacy and successful practices for English proficiency exam preparation, among other topics. The team representing Michigan Language Assessment at the convention included Dr. Fernando Fleurquin, director of marketing, communications, and stakeholder relations; Emily Clifford, academic services manager; and Sarah Vander Woude, customer service supervisor.
Michigan Language Assessment exhibited at the Graduate Enrollment Management Conference in Louisville, KY, April 24-27, hosted by The Association for Graduate Enrollment Management (NAGAP). Julie Montero de Castro, senior business development and recognition manager for western and central United States and Canada, represented Michigan Language Assessment. NAGAP is devoted exclusively to the concerns of individuals working in the graduate enrollment management environment.
NAFSA held its annual conference and expo June 28-31 in New Orleans, LA. Four members of Michigan Language Assessment’s team joined more than 9,000 attendees, vendors, and exhibitors at the conference, including Geoff Moody, director of strategic marketing and recognition; Julie Montero de Castro, senior business development and recognition manager; Audrey Bridgers, business development and recognition representative for the southern United States; and Alex Ressler, business development and recognition representative for the northeastern United States and Canada.
Team members also attended The International Association for College Admission Counseling (IACAC) conference in London, Ontario, Canada, July 9-11; and the Philippine Nurses Association of America national convention in Long Beach, CA, July 17-21.
