The Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS) has a new name: TruMerit. While the name has changed, the organization’s mission remains the same. TruMerit will continue to support international healthcare professionals as they pursue licensure and employment in the United States.
At Michigan Language Assessment, we’re proud to continue working alongside TruMerit to provide English language testing options that meet VisaScreen® requirements, including the Michigan English Test (MET).
What is TruMerit?
TruMerit is the new brand identity for CGFNS, reflecting its commitment to equity, integrity, and opportunity for international health professionals. The name change is part of a larger effort to modernize the organization’s services and improve access to the tools and assessments that help global healthcare workers succeed in the U.S.
Has Anything Changed?
Despite the rebrand, VisaScreen®, a critical certification program for many internationally educated nurses, remains the same. And MET continues to be an accepted English proficiency test for applicants completing their VisaScreen® application through TruMerit.
