Michigan Language Assessment is very proud of all that we have accomplished with our test centers, preparation centers, teachers and test takers during the past 12 months. We thank you for your support and commitment during an exciting year. Your feedback has informed our recent achievements, empowered additions to the Michigan Test portfolio, and shaped many changes and developments.

In 2019, we made improvements to our exams and processes in order to benefit all of our test takers and stakeholders. We revised the MET exam, radically improved operational processes and results turnaround times, enhanced training and support for test centers and speaking examiners, and released new test preparation resources—all while maintaining our high standards in assessment quality and customer service.

Building on this success, we have planned further developments for 2020. We strive to bring excellent service to you and increase our impact in English language education around the world in this new decade. Priorities for 2020 include:

  • ECCE and ECPE Revisions

We are working to update the ECCE and ECPE exams. Revised versions of the exams will be launched in 2021. We have received favorable feedback from test takers and test administrators who piloted the revised exams, and we will share information on the revised test format very soon.

  • MET Recognition

We will continue our work to expand the number of higher education and professional organizations that recognize MET as proof of English proficiency for high-stakes educational and occupational purposes.

  • MET Go! Growth

MET Go! has had a fantastic reception in its first year. Schools, teachers, and parents all appreciate the personalized feedback given to each test taker, along with the attractive format of the test, the accessible price, and flexible administration arrangements. We will support test centers that administer the exam for the first time and help proactive centers offer this exam to a growing number of schools and test takers.

  • Enhanced MYLE Score Reports

Our youngest test takers will benefit from a new enhanced MYLE score report. Similar to the MET Go! personalized feedback, which has been popular among teachers, parents, and students, the new MYLE score reports will offer insight that helps children progress in their English learning journeys. Look for an announcement about this new feature before its launch later this year.

  • An Improved Website Experience

We are launching a brand-new website this year. Featuring easily accessible information, organized resources, and improved navigation, the new website will better inform and support all of our customers and stakeholders.

As we work on achieving these goals, we are grateful that we can depend on you as part of the Michigan team. School principals, teachers, center exam managers, and parents all play important roles in improving education, and we thank you for supporting us in delivering our educational mission in 2020 and beyond.

Best regards and warmest wishes for a happy and prosperous new year,

Sharon Harvey
