ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN — Michigan Language Assessment and Health Carousel International are excited to announce a unique partnership designed to provide nurses and nursing students in Mexico with a clear, structured pathway toward a career in the United States. The Nursing Employment Program in the United States combines the strengths of both organizations, merging expertise in English language assessment with world-class healthcare recruitment.

Michigan Language Assessment, backed by the University of Michigan and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, develops respected, secure, and trusted English language exams around the world, and Health Carousel International is a leading healthcare staffing firm.

Through the Nursing Employment Program in the United States, nurses, including motivated registered nurses and final-year nursing students, can access comprehensive English language training and testing offered by two prestigious educational institutions in Mexico. This specialized English language preparation is provided free of charge to participants, ensuring they meet the language standards needed to succeed in U.S. healthcare settings.

Upon achieving the required English proficiency certified by the Michigan English Test (MET), Health Carousel International will guide program participants through the credentialing and visa process, and ultimately connect them with suitable positions in top healthcare facilities across all 50 states.

“We’re excited to be partnered with Michigan Language Assessment, as they fully understand what it takes to prepare Mexican RNs for careers in U.S. nursing,” said Andrew Lingo, director, Ethical Recruitment & Sustainability at Health Carousel International. “Mexico has many world-class nursing programs whose graduates are well-prepared clinically but need this program’s intensive English language preparation to succeed on high-stakes English and U.S. nurse licensure exams.”

In addition, Michigan Language Assessment and Health Carousel International have developed a unique cultural and professional practice program to prepare participants for the nuances of U.S. healthcare culture, making the transition to a new work environment smoother and more successful.

“We are proud to be part of providing an opportunity which can fundamentally change the lives of Mexican nurses while also providing critical resources for the U.S. healthcare system and patients,” said Sharon Harvey, CEO of Michigan Language Assessment. “This collaboration is a clear example of our mission to help people achieve their education and career goals.”

With dedicated support from Michigan Language Assessment and Health Carousel International, participants will be guided every step of the way toward building their careers in the U.S., all at no cost. This collaboration opens doors to global career opportunities, helping healthcare professionals achieve their dreams while contributing to fixing healthcare staffing shortages across the states.
