What is as important for a successful exam day as your countless hours of studying for the Michigan English Test? Having your test day checklist completed in advance! Skip the stress by following these guidelines for equipment set-up, workspace requirements, registration documentation, and other crucial preparation details. Whether you’re taking MET Digital at home or an Authorized Test Center, our day-before-the-exam checklist will ensure it goes as smoothly as possible.
Taking MET Digital At Home
You will need each of the following:
- A laptop or desktop computer. Chromebooks, phones, and tablets are not supported at this time. Windows operating systems and Mac iOS 10.13 or higher are supported.
- Web camera
- Speaker or headphones that are wired
- Microphone
- Internet access (2.25 Mbps minimum for test player)
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge Internet browser
It’s a good idea to check all of your equipment to ensure it’s functioning correctly the night before the exam. Ensure that your microphone audio is on and calibrated. Check them by talking with a family member. Test your speakers or headphones at the same time, making sure you can hear through them clearly. Run any updates that your laptop or desktop computer might need in advance. You can find the full list of system requirements here.
Workspace Requirements
Even though you’ll be taking MET Digital from the comfort of your home, security protocols limit what you can have at your workstation. Your space must be free of distractions and located near your router for good internet connectivity. An organized workspace promotes better focus and will go a long way in helping you do well on the exam. A bottle of water is also a good idea because hydration is important for your brain!
Taking MET Digital at an Authorized Test Center
You may choose to take MET Digital at one of our Authorized Test Centers. They provide you with all of the equipment you need, so don’t have to worry about the extra expense if you don’t have the right technology at home. You will need to provide a government-issued form of identification and have your photo taken upon arrival.
Now that you’ve gone over all the essential information, the only thing left to do is ROCK your exam. Get a good night’s rest knowing you have everything ready to ace your test.
