Michigan Language Assessment, part of the University of Michigan and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, continues to expand its global footprint by offering its premiere English language proficiency test, MET, in locations across India. This expansion increases opportunities for Indian students, nurses, and other professionals to demonstrate their proficiency to universities, nursing boards, and government agencies.

“I am excited to introduce students and healthcare professionals in India to MET, which has been developed to reflect real-world language through relevant and familiar tasks,” said Sharon Harvey, CEO of Michigan Language Assessment. “This approach gives test takers the confidence to succeed and fulfill their dream of studying or working in the U.S.”

More than a quarter million Indian students enrolled in U.S. colleges and universities in 2022-23 – a 35% increase from the prior academic year. For those prospective students, MET offers a globally-recognized test with a focus on real-world language and situations. “What is unique about MET – and Michigan Language Assessment – is our commitment to our test takers,” Harvey said. “Our teams are dedicated to supporting the dreams and aspirations of test takers at all levels.”

The next MET exams in India will be offered in August in several locations:

  • Mumbai
  • Hyderabad
  • Gurgaon
  • Ahmedabad

Additional test dates and locations will be added in September. For detailed information about MET test dates and locations, preparation resources, registration, and scoring visit the MET for India page at https://michiganassessment.org/met-for-india/.
