After much consideration, leadership at Michigan Language Assessment, in consultation with its board of directors, has made the decision to remove MYLE from its portfolio offering effective at the conclusion of 2024.
Many factors were involved in the decision to withdraw MYLE. It was originally developed to promote a positive testing experience for students ages 6 to 10. With its colorful, age-appropriate tasks and appearance, MYLE met the needs of young learners, their parents, and schools interested in English language assessments. Changes to how schools test English for young learners as a result of the pandemic, as well as the increased popularity of another Michigan Test, MET Go!, and its use in testing younger populations of English language learners, contributed to the decision.
Current MYLE customers will be able to administer the exam through December 31, 2024, with results published within the standard turnaround time frame. Questions about the MYLE withdrawal can be directed to your local business development representative or by contacting info@michiganassessment.org.
