Michigan Language Assessment is excited to announce that three additional state boards of nursing in the United States have officially recognized the Michigan English Test (MET) as an approved English proficiency exam. These latest additions include the boards of nursing in Arkansas, Rhode Island, Texas, and Virginia. This expansion underscores the growing trust and reliance on MET as a reliable measure of English language proficiency for healthcare professionals.
MET is widely recognized for its comprehensive and practical approach to assessing English skills, making it an ideal choice for aspiring nurses seeking licensure in the U.S. With the inclusion of Arkansas, Texas, and Virginia, even more candidates can now use their MET results to meet English language requirements, streamlining their path to licensure.
“We are grateful to the boards of nursing in Rhode Island, Texas, Arkansas, and Virginia for relying on Michigan English Test and Michigan Language Assessment to offer foreign-trained nurses new opportunities to certify their English proficiency to pursue their dream to join the healthcare workforce in the United States,” said Fernando Fleurquin, special adviser for government relations and education.
As the healthcare industry continues to grow and evolve, Michigan Language Assessment remains committed to supporting international professionals in achieving their career goals. The recognition of MET by an increasing number of boards of nursing highlights the exam’s value in addressing the needs of both test takers and regulatory bodies.
