In addition to accepting MET to qualify for occupational visas in the healthcare sector of the United States, CGFNS International announced that MET is also accepted for its Certification Program. This program is a requirement or criterion for approval to take the NCLEX-RN® exam needed for registered nurses to obtain licensure to work in the U.S. and Canada.

Registered nurses interested in obtaining licensure to work in the U.S. can benefit from participating in the CGFNS Certification Program(R). It has three components: credentials evaluation, a qualifying exam, and evidence of English language proficiency. A minimum MET score of 55, with a speaking score of 55 or higher, is accepted to meet the English language requirement.

MET was already accepted as proof of English proficiency to qualify for occupational visas and apply for the VisaScreen(R) Service offered by CGFNS. Registered nurses, practical/vocational nurses, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, medical technologists, medical technicians, and physician assistants can use MET to apply for their occupational visa to work in the U.S. To meet VisaScreen(R) English language requirements, healthcare professionals must have an MET score of 55 or higher with a speaking score of at least 55.

“We are proud to support the dreams of healthcare professionals to continue their careers in the U.S. We will continue collaborating with CGFNS and US. State Boards of Nursing to increase access to work opportunities for qualified healthcare professionals,” said Fernando Fleurquin, MD, EdD, Director of Marketing, Communications, and Stakeholder Relations at Michigan Language Assessment.

MET is also accepted by Boards of Nursing and other healthcare professions in Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Wyoming. It is securely administered throughout our global network of Authorized Test Centers.
