Michigan Language Assessment is committed to offering enhanced support during these challenging times. As the world continues to adjust to societal changes imposed by coronavirus (COVID-19), our staff in Ann Arbor and around the world have dedicated themselves to providing an increased focus on the needs of test takers, teachers, test centers, and schools. A lot has changed in the past few months, so we wanted to provide you with a few updates:
- We strive to provide the greatest flexibility to our test centers. During March and April we postponed administrations for safety concerns, but we continued working with centers to ensure they are able to resume operations when safe. Our network of centers has reacted swiftly to the situation and, in regions where it’s safe, they’re making all necessary adjustments. We anticipate several centers will resume testing by the end of the month.
- Students have had to become familiar with remote learning very quickly, and they’ve been thrown into a world where daily learning now takes place via Zoom or Skype. For anyone continuing their education remotely, we’ve developed at-home resources filled with videos, activities for study, and worksheets to help them advance their abilities in English.
- Teachers have been making an adjustment from in-person classrooms to the virtual realm, and it’s a switch that can be a bit overwhelming. We’ve added new content to our Test Preparation Resource Library, where you can find webinars, videos, and skill-based resource packs to help ease your transition to the new normal. (More material is in development. Sign up to be notified whenever new resources are published.)
- Many institutions are looking for a way to safely administer placement and progress tests for their students. Our Michigan English Placement Test (Michigan-EPT) has been the right fit for many of them and provides the reliable results they want. This 60-minute easy-to-administer test is for anyone at the secondary-school level on up. Contact us for more information and a free demo.
We wish you well, and we hope that you stay safe, healthy, and strong.
