Identification requirements

The following identification (ID) requirements apply to the paper and digital versions of ECCE, ECPE, and MET.

Candidates must provide one (1) form of valid, non-expired government-issued ID, including a recent recognizable photo and signature. Acceptable forms of photo- and signature-bearing ID include but are not limited to:

  • Driver’s license
  • Government-issued ID card
  • Passport

Note: Only physical IDs are accepted, not digital IDs.

If your current government-issued photo ID does not include a signature or is not in Latin characters, then a secondary ID with a signature and a name that exactly matches must be provided. Secondary IDs include some bank cards, credit cards, and some employee IDs. Candidates under 18 years of age on the test date and whose identification does not contain a signature are not required to provide secondary signature identification. If identification requirement is not fulfilled at check-in on test day, the test taker will forfeit their fees.
