The Michigan English Test (MET) is a digital English proficiency exam designed for academic, professional, and personal purposes. It assesses four key language skills: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Whether applying to a university, seeking professional licensure, or demonstrating English skills for another reason, registering for MET is a straightforward process.
Step 1: Understand the Test Format
MET evaluates the following four skills:
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Speaking
The test is entirely digital and can be taken either at an authorized test center or remotely from home in most countries.
Step 2: Choose Your Testing Location
Depending on the test taker’s location and specific requirements, MET is available to take in one of two ways:
- At a Test Center: Find a nearby authorized test center using our test center database.
- At Home: Test takers may choose to take MET remotely if available and if the remote format is accepted by the organization requiring certification.
For certain applications, such as U.S. nursing licensure, MET must be taken at a test center.
